Growing up, Dragon Boat Festival meant one thing in our household. Bak zhang on the table, bamboo leaves to unwrap slowly, and the kind of anticipation that only comes with food you get to eat once a year. That memory is probably why I pay more attention than most to where the good rice dumplings are in Singapore each season.

This year, if you are looking for something worth sitting down for, Feng Shui Inn at Resorts World Sentosa has put together a festive set that is genuinely hard to overlook. Available until 19 June 2026, this is one of those Dragon Boat Festival offerings that leans into real craftsmanship rather than novelty.

What Makes Feng Shui Inn’s Rice Dumplings Different

The curated set of Resorts World Sentosa dumplings for Dragon Boat Festival 2026, featuring three distinct flavours beautifully presented for festive family gifting

Feng Shui Inn is Resorts World Sentosa’s acclaimed Cantonese restaurant, and the team there has approached their festive dumpling collection with the same attention to detail you would expect from a fine-dining kitchen. The 2026 set features three distinct flavours with six dumplings in total, two of each kind. Each one is handcrafted using traditional techniques and elevated with premium ingredients that you do not usually find in your average bak zhang.

The Cantonese-style Wrapped Rice Dumpling

The premium bak chang from the Feng Shui Inn menu, showcasing a luxurious Cantonese-style rice dumpling filled with abalone, Kurobuta pork, and salted egg yolk

This is the one for those who like their rice dumplings generous and savoury all the way through. The Cantonese-style Wrapped Rice Dumpling layers fish maw, eight-head abalone, and dried scallops alongside salted egg yolk, cured duck, Chinese sausage, and Kurobuta pork. The combination is rich and deeply satisfying, with the seafood elements adding a complexity that carries the whole dumpling beautifully.

It is best paired with Feng Shui Inn’s signature XO Chilli Sauce, made with dried scallops, shrimp, and spices. The sauce lifts the savoury notes without overshadowing any of the individual ingredients.

The Five Grain Auspicious Rice Dumpling

If you want something that feels a little more wholesome but still has real depth, the Five Grain Auspicious Rice Dumpling is worth your attention. It brings together five grains with boletus and flower mushrooms, black-eyed beans, dried squid, and roast pork belly. The textures here are noticeably more varied, and the earthy mushrooms balance the richness of the pork belly in a way that keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy.

This one also pairs well with the XO Chilli Sauce, which adds a welcome hit of spice and umami to every bite.

The Sweet Purple Potato Rice Dumpling

The third dumpling in the set takes things in a completely different direction, and it is a wonderful way to round off the experience. The Sweet Purple Potato Rice Dumpling combines creamy purple potato with osmanthus and butterfly pea, finished with jujube for a subtle floral sweetness. It leans towards a dessert option, which is a thoughtful touch in a collection that otherwise plays firmly in the savoury space.

Feng Shui Inn pairs this one with their signature Osmanthus Sweet Sauce, which echoes the floral notes already in the dumpling and makes for a gentle, fragrant finish.

A Gift That Actually Looks the Part

The full set is presented in a reusable thermal carrier alongside both signature sauces, making it a genuinely presentable gift for the Dragon Boat Festival. It is the kind of thing you could bring to a family gathering or give to someone whose palate you respect, without any last-minute wrapping required.

Priced at S$128 nett, the set of six dumplings is available for self-collection from 22 May to 19 June 2026 between 12pm and 8pm daily at the Hotel Ora Lobby at Resorts World Sentosa. Delivery is available at S$20 per location, and if you pay with a Mastercard, there is a 10% discount applicable with a minimum spend of S$100.

Orders can be placed by emailing [email protected] or directly at the Hotel Ora lobby.

Is the Set Worth Getting

For anyone who takes Dragon Boat Festival food seriously, the answer is yes. The premium ingredients, the thoughtful pairing suggestions, and the overall presentation of the set make it feel considered rather than merely seasonal.

The Cantonese-style Wrapped Rice Dumpling alone justifies most of the price. Eight-head abalone and fish maw are not additions you come across in most festive sets, and the flavour they contribute is immediately noticeable.

The 19 June deadline is closer than it looks. Festive sets like this one tend to sell out before the collection period ends, so if it is on your radar, sooner is better than later.

Which flavour would you reach for first? Drop a comment below and let me know.
