One of the most remarkable aspects of the Sakura Menu is the inclusion of the highly sought-after Himokawa Udon in pink, a sensation that has been spreading through the culinary scene in Japan. This type of udon is particularly renowned for its delicate flavour and unique flat shape. It is served with grated mountain yam and Tempura Makino’s signature mentsuyu dipping sauce, providing diners with an unparalleled gastronomic experience. The Cherry Tororo Himokawa Udon can be ordered separately for $9.

Their Blooming Mizu Shingen Mochi dessert costs $6 and combines the airy texture of Raindrop cake with the rich flavours of brown sugar syrup and soybean powder. This dessert promises to be the perfect ending to your Sakura-themed culinary journey.

I found one of the quirkiest little spots in Joo Chiat 👀

Heartware Store & Gallery is currently hosting Japanese artist Choibusu’s first solo exhibition in Singapore, featuring 500+ handmade “ugly-cute” keychains. Think sushi, snails, wisdom teeth and all sorts of wonderfully weird characters. 😂

There are also vintage Japanese toys, 3D-printed lamps, colourful merch and plenty of random treasures to discover.
