Whenever you ask a foreigner about Singaporean food, one dish will most likely always come out of their mouths: Hainanese chicken. As such, it isn’t really surprising that McDonald’s Singapore has chosen this tasty treat for its latest collaboration – just in time for the countdown to National Day.

With Mediacorp Artiste and Guest Chef Ben Yeo, McDonald’s Singapore has crafted a burger that is inspired by Singapore for the first time ever – the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger! This limited edition creation will launch across all McDonald’s restaurants in Singapore and via delivery on 5 August 2021.

Inspired by one of Singapore’s favourite local dishes – the Hainanese Chicken Rice (from $6.60 for a la carte and from $8.30 for Extra Value Meal) – the Crispy “Hainanese Chicken” Burger features a juicy, crispy chicken patty complemented by a trio of sauces that is unique to the Hainanese Chicken Rice – ginger sauce, garlic chilli sauce, and dark sweet sauce.

Just like how we drizzle the dark sauce on Hainanese Chicken Rice, the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger comes with a sachet of dark sweet sauce to drizzle on the burger in your own way.

“My inspiration behind the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger comes from my love and passion for local food,” Ben Yeo explains. “I grew up eating local food, so I wanted to incorporate a local flavour and taste – with a McDonald’s twist – into the burger.”

“We’re thrilled to have this unique opportunity to partner Ben Yeo to craft the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger as a spin on a local favourite,” says Drina Chee, Senior Director, Marketing & Digital Customer Experience, McDonald’s Singapore. “Ben Yeo’s passion for local food, experience in the local F&B scene and love for McDonald’s make him a natural fit for this collaboration.”

And that’s not all! Alongside the limited-edition Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger comes the return of some of our golden favourites – the crunchy Crisscut® Fries and crispy Banana Pie – the perfect add-ons to any meal.

The Crisscut Fries start from $3.50 (M) and $3.80 (L) or you can upgrade your French fries to Crisscut Fries for just $0.30!

The Banana Pie starts from $1.40.

In celebration of all things local, McDonald’s Singapore also has their special take on the classic local beverage ‘Kopi’ – the Kopi Frappé. Imagine your favourite classic frappé built around aromatic local kopi – it’s the best way to beat the Singapore heat right now.

Get the Kopi Frappé from $4.30 (S) and $4.70 (M) or simply upgrade your Extra Value Meal drink to Kopi Frappé (M) from just $1.85.

The Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger, Crisscut Fries, and Banana Pie are available after breakfast hours starting 5 August 2021 for takeaway in all restaurants, Drive-Thru and via McDelivery, GrabFood, and Foodpanda for a limited period only while stocks last. The Kopi Frappé is available all day, while stocks last and is available at McDonald’s restaurants excluding McDonald’s Lido, McDonald’s Parklane Shopping Mall, McCafé, and Dessert Kiosks.
