Chasing the best afternoon tea Singapore has to offer, I tried the newly revamped experience at Grand Hyatt Singapore on Orchard Road. Expect a refined semi-buffet with ASC seafood, French cheeses and a dessert tier, plus a nightly Grand Evening Indulgence. It feels like classic Orchard Road dining, sharpened for today.

What makes a great high tea Singapore experience is not only sweets and scones, but also a sense of occasion. After a multi-year redevelopment, Grand Hyatt Singapore has reopened 10|SCOTTS with a polished update, keeping the homely waterfall views and value that regulars love, then tightening the focus on quality and provenance.

What to expect from the Grand Afternoon Tea

The afternoon starts with Saicho Jasmine sparkling tea, a bright welcome that sets the pace. You move between a curated semi-buffet and tableside service, so there is time to wander and still enjoy little moments at the table. Expect ASC smoked salmon with horseradish and capers, freshly shaved charcuterie and cheeses from Les Frères Marchand, and an ASC seafood vol-au-vent filled with prawns, crab and bisque. A grilled cheese with mustard and chive brings comfort. Warm scones arrive with clotted cream, jam and a very local touch, kaya. Desserts come as a tier to your table, including vanilla mille-feuille with red wine poached pear, a classic opera cake, a cloudlike citrus pavlova and a seasonal fruit tart. Tea is by Monogram, from Darjeeling Royal Flush to Eight Treasures and Golden Moscato Oolong.

Times, prices and what is included

Grand Afternoon Tea is S$65++ per adult and S$30++ per child aged 6 to 12, with free-flow juices and two servings of coffee or tea included. Beverage packages start from S$50++ for free-flow Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut Champagne, or S$70++ for Champagne with selected wines, cocktails and mocktails. Weekdays run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Weekends offer two seatings, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Prices are subject to a 10% service charge and 9% GST. If you are searching for a value-for-quality buffet Singapore option that still feels elegant, this is a strong contender.

Grand Evening Indulgence, a nightly aperitivo ritual

From 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM daily, the Grand Evening Indulgence brings back the spirit of the old After 6 buffet in a lighter, social style. Start with French cheeses from Les Frères Marchand, organic salads, whole fruits, and ASC smoked salmon. Hot plates land with a flourish, Spanish-style ASC prawns sizzling in garlic and olive oil, croquetas de jamón that break with a savoury sigh, and Frites Atelier with parmesan and aioli served tableside. It is priced at S$55++ per adult and S$25++ per child, with beverage packages from S$50++ for selected wines and Tiger beer draught, or S$70++ with Moët & Chandon. Prices are subject to service charge and GST.

Drinks, happy hours and why to linger

The bar mirrors the tea philosophy, flavour layered with elegance. Try the White Bloom Spritz, vermouth lifted by Saicho Jasmine, or the Scotts Americano that blends cold-drip coffee with vermouth and soda. Zero-proof options include Golden Breeze with kombucha and grapefruit, and Secret Garden with berries, herbs and Earl Grey foam. Happy Hour runs from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, so it suits a late lunch, a relaxed meeting or a pre-dinner pause. 10|SCOTTS opens daily from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM.

A smart time to go, especially for members

World of Hyatt members have extra reasons to visit now. Until 9 November 2025, registered members earn double points on eligible dining spend, excluding alcoholic beverages, and stand a weekly chance to win 80,000 bonus points, which can cover multiple nights at participating hotels. If you are planning a friends’ catch-up or a family treat, aligning your booking with the offer makes sense.

If you love Orchard Road dining, this refresh balances the hotel’s generous buffet spirit with sharper curation. The semi-buffet flow keeps things lively, the tableside touches feel personal, and the pricing is fair for the quality. Whether you call it high tea Singapore style or an afternoon escape, 10|SCOTTS feels like a return worth celebrating.

Conclusion

Grand Hyatt Singapore has reimagined its afternoon and evening rituals without losing the easy warmth that made 10|SCOTTS a favourite. If you value provenance, calm service and a relaxed setting in the city’s busiest strip, this is your sign to book. Who are you bringing for your next Orchard Road dining date?
