As the Year of the Snake approaches, Marina Bay Sands is set to dazzle visitors with its grand Chinese New Year celebrations. From 27 January to 12 February 2025, the iconic integrated resort will transform into a hub of festive splendour, offering a mix of stunning decorations, vibrant performances, and exclusive dining experiences. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Marina Bay Sands is the place for an unforgettable Chinese New Year celebration.

A Bold Start to the Year of the Snake

The modern shopping mall atrium at Marina Bay Sands dazzles with its curved ceiling decorations and bright pink lighting, celebrating the Chinese New Year 2025 and the Year of the Snake. Luxury brand stores like CHANEL and HUBLOT add to the opulent atmosphere.
A red sculpture of two intertwined snakes, crafted from a lattice-like material, is showcased indoors against the modern backdrop reminiscent of Marina Bay Sands, featuring a sleek white ceiling in the background.

Marina Bay Sands is pulling out all the stops to welcome the Year of the Snake. The highlight of the celebrations is the annual evening light-up event, titled Chinese New Year Light Up: A Celebration of Bold Beginnings. Held at The Shoppes’ Grand Colonnade, the event will feature a breathtaking chandelier of blessings, symbolising good fortune and prosperity. Inspired by the Year of the Snake, the regal backdrop showcases Chinese couplets cascading down from snakes in motion, creating a mesmerising visual spectacle.

A large red abstract sculpture is displayed indoors, surrounded by glass panels at Marina Bay Sands. Luxury brand stores, Gucci and Chanel, are visible in the background, perfectly complementing the opulent vibes of Chinese New Year 2025 as we celebrate the Year of the Snake.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, singer-songwriter Cheryl K, known for her work on the Crazy Rich Asians soundtrack, will headline the event. She will perform iconic renditions of songs like 我要你的爱 (Wo Yao Ni De Ai) and 月亮代表我的心 (Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin). The line-up also includes rousing dragon and lion dances, modern Chinese opera, and vivid pyrotechnics, all accompanied by the unique East-meets-West musical fusion of Singapore’s critically acclaimed TENG Ensemble.

Festive Decorations and Photo Opportunities

The entire Marina Bay Sands property will be adorned with contemporary and artistic decorations in the auspicious hue of Singapura Red, one of the resort’s signature colours. Inspired by classic Chinese paintings, these installations depict snakes gliding upwards through mountainous landscapes, forming characters such as 福 (Fu, Fortune), 春 (Chun, Spring), 吉 (Ji, Luck), and 发 (Fa, Prosperity). These red blessings will be prominently displayed across the resort, including the Hotel Tower 1 lobby and The Shoppes’ Grand Colonnade.

Visitors can also explore zodiac boards designed as captivating scrolls, elegantly flanking the snake installation. These boards invite guests to discover their fortunes and capture mesmerising photo moments for the year ahead. The beautiful decorations will be displayed from 27 January to 12 February 2025, providing ample time to soak in the festive atmosphere.

Exclusive Retail Collections for Chinese New Year

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands has curated an extensive array of iconic pieces from luxury brands to celebrate the Year of the Snake. From fashion and jewellery to watches and home décor, the collections exude the poise and allure of the zodiac animal.

Amid the ornate wall art, a woman in a red and gold outfit sits at a marble table with teapots during Chinese New Year 2025. Adjacent, red teacups are stacked as tea is poured from a matching teapot, embodying the festive spirit of the Year of the Snake.

At the same time, Roger Vivier spotlights the new Très Vivier Flower Mary Jane Pumps in patent leather with a daisy crystal buckle. Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur 36, a skeleton flying tourbillon in festive red, is a must-see for watch enthusiasts.

Home décor enthusiasts will appreciate Baccarat’s Zodiac Snake, a crystal creation by sculptor Allison Hawkes that symbolises wisdom and intuition. Other brands like LOEWE, Estée Lauder, and Christofle also offer seasonal collections.
