What happens when art, sustainability and imagination light up the heart of the city? Singapore’s 60th birthday celebration gets brighter with the return of i Light Singapore 2025, running from 29 May to 21 June. This year’s festival theme, To Gather, invites all walks of life to experience over 17 spectacular installations and community-driven events across Marina Bay, Singapore River, Raffles Place and South Beach. Whether you are visiting with family, friends, or just wandering solo, this guide covers the seven most magical and meaningful experiences you can’t afford to miss.

Take a Walk Through the Meadow With Me

Nestled beside the NTUC Building, this glowing garden of 300 repurposed acrylic flowers is both beautiful and meaningful. As you move through the space, the flowers light up and emit music, creating a dreamlike audio-visual moment. Made from discarded materials, it’s a gentle reminder that sustainability can be as stunning as it is essential. Don’t miss the accompanying workshop, where you can craft your charm from leftover pieces of the installation.

Piano Walk at Marina Bay Sands

Ever wanted to walk across a piano? Now you can. This larger-than-life interactive keyboard turns the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza into a stage for spontaneous musical collaboration. Every footstep adds a note, while an original soundtrack plays every ten minutes. It’s playful, immersive and fun for every age.

Urban Oracle by Ultravioletto

At the pontoon near Red Dot Design Museum, 24 illuminated letters float over water, responding with AI-generated messages when visitors press a button. Singapore’s past inspires these reflections, as well as its present and imagined future, combining digital technology with ancient traditions of seeking wisdom. It’s poetic, thoughtful, and surprisingly moving.

Reverse Waterfall at UOB Plaza

Forget what you know about gravity. Thousands of LED tubes simulate water flowing upwards across the UOB Plaza façade. This installation flips expectations and invites visitors to question the natural world around them. It’s more than a visual spectacle; it’s a quiet invitation to rethink the way we view reality.

Bridge of 1,000 Dreams on Cavenagh Bridge

Each of the thousand illuminated bamboo sticks on this bridge carries a unique design created by Singaporeans, including children. It’s a collective canvas of hopes, woven into light. Seen from afar, it becomes a luminous symbol of how personal aspirations shape our shared future. It’s also a beautiful photo spot at night.

The Guardians at Raffles Place Park

Step into a colourful, inflatable garden of tropical flowers and oversized flora made from recycled materials. Designed by Matthew Aberline and The Beautiful And Useful Studio, this installation is cheerful, inclusive and designed to be touched, walked around, and enjoyed up close. Perfect for lunch-hour wanderers and office workers looking for a break.

GastroBeats Festival Village at Bayfront

More than an art installation, GastroBeats is a community space buzzing with food, music and workshops. Catch emerging musicians mentored by local band 53A, join content creation showcases, or cheer on aspiring chefs in action. This year, “Let’s Trouble The Water!” brings in quirky characters like Captain Skull to spread awareness about marine pollution. Eco efforts are serious too—solar power, no plastic straws, and BYO containers are encouraged.

Conclusion

i Light Singapore 2025 goes beyond just lights. It’s about gathering stories, people, memories and actions for a brighter future. Whether you’re here to be inspired, entertained, or to enjoy a night stroll, these installations and events promise something more. They show how design, community and sustainability can come together meaningfully.

So, what will your moment be? Grab your loved ones, lace up your walking shoes, and take part in Singapore’s most luminous celebration.
