Who doesn’t love Sogurt? With the knowledge that more and more people are going digital nowadays, this well-loved home-grown froyo brand recently launched its ‘Sogurt 2.0’ campaign, boasting a refreshed brand outlook aimed at catapulting froyo into the future of e-commerce. This striking and fun-loving brand is also brought to life on Sogurt’s social media accounts and new website, creating a distinct online presence.

The campaign spotlights Sogurt’s hero – halal-certified probiotic froyo ice cream – in all-new, vibrant packaging that epitomises the ‘Happy Gut, Happy Life’ motto, while making the products extremely social media-friendly. This is in line with a recent strategic move to cater to an increasing appetite for online purchasing, and part of efforts to synchronise in-store operations with online platforms along with rapid digitalisation of business operations such as e-invoicing.

With the goal of re-affirming Sogurt as Singapore’s first probiotic froyo ice cream brand and opening a new market segment through online retail platforms and channels, Founder Lee Liping (seen above with husband and Business Development Director, Loh Hanlin) shares, “Over the years, we have witnessed an uptrend in brands shifting towards e-commerce locally and internationally, which motivated us to create a 2.0 version of froyo soft serve, that can be packaged and sold easily. Being a first mover comes with uncertainty, especially for a product commonly found in physical retail stores. Fortunately, leading ice-cream brands also started to move in the same direction, and this was well-received by many frozen dessert fans; resulting in a shift in purchasing behaviour for the ice-cream industry.”

Adds Loh Hanlin, Business Development Director: “Sogurt 2.0. is an exciting time for us. Besides
streamlining our in-store and online operations to provide better service, we hope that our refreshed
branding will resonate with our customers, and look forward to connecting with them over our shared
love for froyo.”

Sogur has plans to expand the e-commerce platform in South East Asia and to make their froyo ice cream available at supermarkets, convenience stores, and petrol stations in Singapore. Sogurt will also be launching Corporate Gifting Concierge Services; a custom-order sales platform catered to B2B demands.

The first brand in Singapore to launch PROBIOTIC FROYO ICE-CREAM, Sogurt is a halal-certified, healthier froyo option that is lower in sugar. Popular flavours include Premium Avocado Gula-Melaka, and Premium Dark Chocolate; the latter being the brand’s best-seller.

Adopting a manufacturing process similar to that for ice cream, Sogurt’s froyo ice cream is created with a proprietary pre-mix base of Sotangy, Socreamy ,or Sochoc.

Combined with New Zealand skimmed milk, high-grade virgin coconut oil for optimal fat-burning, as well as yogurt that contains prebiotics and probiotics (live cultures); the mixture is rapidly frozen and churned to minimise the size of ice crystals.

While conventional methods of ice cream production involve pasteurising the entire ice cream mix, the Sogurt technology pasteurises all but the yogurt component. This meticulous attention to detail eliminates the yogurt’s exposure to high heat, keeping the healthy bacteria alive. The freshly made froyo ice cream is then packaged in pint- and single cup-sized tubs, then rapidly frozen at sub-zero temperatures to set.
