Singapore Night Festival 2025 returns from 22 August to 6 September with the theme Island Nights. Featuring over 80 experiences, dazzling projection mapping, live performances and festival villages, the event celebrates Singapore’s 60th year of independence while showcasing the island’s heritage, creativity and vibrant spirit in Bras Basah.Bugis.
What if the city you thought you knew could transform into an island of light, music and stories after dark? That is exactly what the Singapore Night Festival 2025 promises with its theme, Island Nights. Running from 22 August to 6 September across the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, the festival will immerse visitors in Singapore’s identity as an island nation through over 80 vibrant experiences.
This year’s edition is especially meaningful, as it coincides with Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Organised by HeritageSG, a subsidiary of the National Heritage Board, the festival invites locals and visitors alike to rediscover the connections, exchanges and heritage that have shaped Singapore.

A Festival of Lights and Stories
Since 2008, the Singapore Night Festival has been the city’s signature nocturnal celebration of art, culture and community. For its 16th edition, the precinct will once again be transformed with projection mapping, light installations, roving performances and bustling festival villages.

Cathay Green will showcase Sky Castle by Australian studio ENESS, a colourful inflatable archway that responds to crowd movement with music and light. Nearby, Kampong Chill, by artist duo Yok & Sheryo, will transform Capitol Singapore into a relaxed pavilion, offering workshops inspired by island life.
The iconic National Museum of Singapore will feature MOSAIC by French artist Jérémie Bellot, blending celestial constellations with batik motifs to symbolise navigation and cultural exchange. Meanwhile, CHIJMES will be illuminated with works by four Singaporean female artists, trained under the Projection Mapping Masterclass, as they light up its historic façade with fresh interpretations of island stories.

Night Lights Across the City
Six Night Lights installations will stretch across Armenian Street, Bugis+, Funan, the National Design Centre, Plaza Singapura and Raffles City. These pieces invite festival-goers to see familiar places in unexpected ways.

The experience does not end with lights. Visitors can look forward to performances by Starlight Alchemy, known for their LED light shows, and Paper Monkey Theatre’s puppetry, alongside music and puppet theatre from Penang’s Ombak Potehi. The return of Our Songs, Our Stories will unite communities in a singalong of folk and Xinyao classics.

Festival Villages and Community
Three weekends of celebration mean plenty of opportunities to explore. SMU Arts Fest will anchor the festival at SMU Campus Green, while two festival villages will offer food, retail and entertainment. Paradise Island at Armenian Street provides a playful escape, while Bugis Street Art Lane’s Retro District brings a nostalgic edge.

Beyond entertainment, the festival strengthens Singapore’s creative ecosystem. The third edition of The Listening Biennial will explore listening as a creative practice, while the inaugural ALIGHT Conference brings together Southeast Asian light artists to share ideas.
National Day Activations
Starting from 1 August, the precinct will light up with National Day Activations themed Celebrating Our Island. Historic buildings and hidden corners will transform into interactive spaces, featuring stories of local food, flora and heritage. One highlight is Sungei Beras Bassa, a river that once supported nutmeg plantations in the area, reimagined for visitors to discover.

These activations mark collaborations with students from LASALLE College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, showcasing how young creatives continue to shape Singapore’s cultural landscape.
Why You Should Go

The Singapore Night Festival is more than an arts event, it is a reflection of Singapore’s identity. It celebrates the island’s resilience, creativity and connections to the world. Whether you are captivated by dazzling projection mapping, intrigued by heritage stories, or simply want to enjoy a lively night out with family and friends, the festival has something for everyone.
Admission is free, with select ticketed programmes available via Klook. With its mix of heritage, technology, food and entertainment, the Singapore Night Festival 2025 is set to be one of the biggest highlights in Singapore’s cultural calendar.
