Henri Charpentier celebrates 10 years in Singapore with special events, including high tea and workshops at Madame on 69 Tras Street. Known for its French-inspired Japanese pastries, the patisserie plans to expand in Southeast Asia. Join the festivities and experience a decade of craftsmanship and delightful desserts.

It’s incredible how time flies. Ten years ago, a French-inspired Japanese patisserie quietly opened its doors in Singapore, bringing a fusion of delicate flavours and artisanal craftsmanship. Henri Charpentier, renowned for its exquisite pastries and desserts, is celebrating a decade of delighting taste buds on our sunny island. As it reaches this milestone, the patisserie isn’t just looking back on its achievements and setting sights on an exciting future in Southeast Asia.

A Decade of Delightful Pastries

Henri Charpentier has always been more than just a patisserie; it’s an experience that combines French techniques with Japanese precision. Over the past ten years, it has become a cherished part of many Singaporeans’ special moments, from birthday celebrations to casual afternoon treats. Their signature Strawberry Shortcake and Crêpe Suzette have become household names, synonymous with quality and indulgence.

Celebratory Events Not to Miss

Henri Charpentier hosts special events from 9 to 13 October at Madame on 69 Tras Street to thank the community for their unwavering support. Here’s what’s on the agenda:

A marble table with plates of desserts and appetizers, alongside various cocktails and beverages, arranged neatly.
  • Salon de Thé – High Tea Experience: Indulge in a curated selection of the patisserie’s most beloved cakes and pastries with savoury treats. The highlight? The long-awaited return of the theatrical tableside service of their famous Crêpe Suzette flambéed right before your eyes for a dramatic finale.
  • The Atelier—The Shortcake Workshop: Have you ever wanted to try cake decorating? Led by Head Chef Kenji Yokota, this intimate workshop offers hands-on experience crafting your 12cm Strawberry Shortcake. It’s a delightful way to appreciate the artistry that goes into each creation.
  • The Patisserie Pop-Up: For those who prefer a quick treat, the pop-up offers freshly baked financiers and a selection of beverages. Exclusive, limited-edition retail packs and gifts will also be available—perfect for those looking to bring a piece of the celebration home.

A Special Treat for 10-Year-Olds

In a heartwarming gesture, children born on 9 October 2014—the same day Henri Charpentier first opened in Singapore—are invited to receive a complimentary 12cm Strawberry Shortcake. Families can collect this special birthday gift at any of the six outlets across Singapore from 9 to 13 October by presenting a valid ID.

Craftsmanship at Its Core

What sets Henri Charpentier apart is its unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. Unlike many bakeries, each cake is prepared and baked from start to finish by a single chef every day. This approach ensures consistency and allows chefs to pour their passion into every creation.

Head Chef Kenji Yokota shares, “While our method may seem less efficient, we believe that nurturing individual craftsmanship is essential to maintaining the high quality our brand is known for. It’s about cultivating future pastry talents who can make a lasting impact in the industry.”

Looking Ahead: Expansion Plans

As it celebrates this significant milestone, Henri Charpentier also looks to the future. Plans are underway to open more stores in Singapore and launch the first outlet in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2025. With Singapore as its regional hub, the patisserie aims to share its delightful creations with more Southeast Asian people.

Chief Executive Officer Ami Arita expresses gratitude, saying, “We are deeply thankful to all our customers in Singapore for embracing Henri Charpentier over the past 10 years. This milestone isn’t just about our success; it’s about the strong connection we’ve built with our customers who inspire us to innovate while preserving our artisanal roots.”

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
😌 TGIF! I’m taking a break from all the rally heat with some grilled goodness at Sinpopo.

🧈 The Damn Good Kaya & Salty Butter Sandwich really good, plus teh tarik, coffee and peanut mochi for that extra mood boost.
