Kayden and I spent our Sunday morning playing this board game called the Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game. A pretty cheesy name. With up to four players above three years old, this is a really simple to play game with the use of a spinning arrow wheel, twenty coloured acorns, a plastic squirrel squeezers and four slices of cardboard tree log.

As the name of this board game goes, it is about picking those rubber acorns from the ground or stealing the acorns from other players to complete up to the collection of acorns: yellow, red, blue, purple and green. Your destiny depends strongly on the wheel.

Kayden’s favourite destiny on the cardboard wheel was the gust of wind. When this destiny was chosen, he gets really excited to throw all his acorns back to the ground. My personal favourite destiny was stealing anyone acorn from any other player and place it on my tree log. This is a good way to get the colour I want on my tree log.

The material used in this board game is primarily cardboard, rubber and plastic and the feel of them are of good quality and sturdy. The only concern is those colourful acorns are small and they could get lost easily. So, I will always remember to count them before placing them into the box.

So, how will this game help the children? This game refines the motor skills of children when using the plastic squirrel squeezers, allow them to recognise colours, patience in taking turns and improve eyes-and-hand coordinations. A nice board game which the whole family can have fun with. So, welcome to the world of squirrels!
