Butterbear will be taking over orchardgateway in October, and it’s not necessary to have a place in the fully booked walk if you want to take part in most of the activities.
The Butterbear Happy Walk Singapore will occur on 17 October 2026, making it the character’s first Happy Walk in Singapore. Although thousands of registered participants will be walking from Fort Canning Park to orchardgateway, the mall will also be offering Butterbear activities, collectibles, photo spots and shopping rewards to the general public from now until 18 October.
This is therefore an event that extends over more than one day; for those families and Butterbear fans who missed the registration, there are still a number of reasons to visit orchardgateway in the coming weeks.
Butterbear Happy Walk Singapore takes place on 17 October
The highlight of the event is the Butterbear Happy Walk, which sells out on 17 October 2026.
The participants will start off at Fort Canning Park and then go on to orchardgateway, where the shops taking part will join in the race-day celebrations with games, activities, prizes and promotions.

Although the walk is no longer open for registration, the wider Butterbear programme run by orchardgateway is aimed at both people taking part in the race and ordinary shoppers.
It’s something worth knowing if you had hoped to take in the event without taking part in the walk.
Complete the Butterbear Happy Quest around orchardgateway
A major activity available to shoppers is the Butterbear Happy Quest, which takes place from 26 September to 9 October 2026.

The hunt taking place within the mall includes 10 checkpoints at Orchardgateway, and the participants go through the various sections of the mall according to a digital map, during which Butterbear appears in different appearances and there are photo opportunities as part of the experience.
People who have finished the Butterbear Happy Quest will be able to claim their prize during the Race Pack Collection period on 9 and 10 October as long as stocks last.
For families who are visiting Orchard Road, this might be an easy way of taking part in the Butterbear festivities without having to arrange their plans around the race day.
Shoppers can redeem Butterbear Blind Boxes and mall rewards
A spend-and-redeem offer is also going to be available up to 18 October 2026.
If shoppers spend S$120 or more they can get a S$10 voucher and a coupon giving them one hour of free parking; if they spend at least S$250 they can also obtain a Butterbear Blind Box which contains one of four designs of eco bag and charm.

The fact that the format is four-design blind box means that you won’t know what colour and design you’re getting until you open it, which in turn gives collectors an additional reason to take part.
The Happy Walk itself does not include the promotion, so ordinary shoppers at the orchardgateway can take part in the campaign period.
Butterbear photo spots will stay beyond the Happy Walk
When your main aim is taking photographs, you’ll have a bit more room to breathe.
There will be Butterbear installations all over the mall, such as an inflatable 4 metres high at the Plaza and one 2 metres high outside Jian Cha at Basement 1.
Thematically designed flags will be placed along the Beam walkway, and there will be celebratory banners around The Tube and on the Level 1 Runway. The Butterbear inflatables will stay in the mall until 1 November 2026, therefore extending the photo opportunities beyond the main campaign and the Happy Walk.

This will be useful for those who prefer to avoid the larger crowd on 17 October.
Race participants get extra games on 17 October
Certain activities are exclusively available to registered Butterbear Happy Walk participants.
On the day of the race CHAGEE will be running a ‘Smell & Guess the Tea’ challenge and Nong Geng Ji will be carrying out a Giant Chopsticks Challenge in which the participants have to pick up the fruit and vegetable props from a pool of balls.

A memory-style challenge will also be carried out by Hands on Klay in which the participants have to recreate a hidden arrangement of five items with the aim of winning prizes. These activities will be available only to Happy Walk participants on 17 October.
Race participants may obtain a Game Card from stores that are taking part and then get stamps once they have carried out the relevant activities. As long as they collect three stamps, they can get the special Butterbear sticker sheet at the Lucky Draw Booth on the first floor, in front of Scarlett #B1-03, while stocks last.

The tenants taking part also consist of Coffee by Dlike, Jian Cha, YGF Mala Tang and Rolife, together with CHAGEE, Nong Geng Ji and Hands on Klay.
