I don’t have the habit of printing out my photographs. Instead, I will choose to upload my photographs to my social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. With good quality lens built onto the smartphones and fast network speed these days, this makes photo sharing so much easier. Despite I own 6 cameras at home, my personal favourite is still Apple iPhone. With lots of photography apps available on the App Store, this makes editing photographs on the go really easy. From Flickr’s data on Percentage of Photographers in 2015, Apple iPhone took the top 6 positions, leaving the DSLRs, compact cameras, and other smartphones behind. Up to 46% of the photographs uploaded on Flickr are from iPhone, crowning this Apple device “The Most Popular Camera” in 2015.

Founded in 2007, iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) is the first and longest running iPhone photography competition. With more than 130 countries participating, IPPAWARDS need to select the best photographs among the thousands of them submitted. This year will be the 9th IPPAWARDS and counties participating includes Hong Kong, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, United States and China.

For the prizes, the Grand winner will walk away with an iPad Pro. The first, second and third place award winner will walk away with an Apple Watch Sports Edition. As there are 19 categories in the 9th IPPAWARDS, each categories’ first-place winner will be awarded a Gold Bar. The Second and Third place winners will each awarded a Palladium Bar. This is the most recognisable private gold mint in the world.

Now, here are some of the winning photographs taken using the iPhone.

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
😌 TGIF! I’m taking a break from all the rally heat with some grilled goodness at Sinpopo.

🧈 The Damn Good Kaya & Salty Butter Sandwich really good, plus teh tarik, coffee and peanut mochi for that extra mood boost.

🗳️ Don’t forget to vote tomorrow ok?
