The arrival of 2026 was celebrated in spectacular fashion at The Kallang, as thousands gathered along the Kallang Basin for an energetic night of music, festivities and fireworks. Countdown 2026 at The Kallang also marked a significant milestone for The Kallang Group, serving as the organisation’s first major event since its rebranding.

Designed as a celebration for all ages, the countdown brought together the community for an evening filled with live performances, family-friendly activities, roving acts and immersive experiences across the precinct. As the night progressed, anticipation built towards the centrepiece celebrations that would welcome the new year in unforgettable style.

One of the evening’s biggest highlights was the inaugural Countdown 2026 Concert at Stadium Roar, which drew massive crowds with its star-studded line-up. Headlining the concert were global K-pop icons Super Junior, whose appearance sent waves of excitement through fans. They were joined by Chinese vocalist Cheng Huan (承桓), alongside some of Singapore’s most loved homegrown talents, including Benjamin Kheng, Tabitha Nauser, and Iman Fandi.

The performances transformed Stadium Roar into a vibrant sea of lights, music and shared celebration, setting the tone for a memorable countdown experience that blended international star power with local pride.

As the clock struck midnight, the celebrations reached their peak with a breathtaking fireworks display over the Kallang Basin. A dazzling 15-minute finale marked the start of 2026, forming part of a total 35 minutes of fireworks that illuminated the night sky. Reflections danced across the water as crowds cheered, capturing a moment of collective joy and renewal.

First Kallang Pass Winner Unveiled

Adding to the excitement of the night was the unveiling of the inaugural Kallang Pass winner. Nineteen-year-old Ong Chen Yu (Thevin) emerged as the first recipient of the coveted pass, which grants year-long access to a wide range of sports and entertainment events in 2026 at the National Stadium and Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Sharing his excitement, Thevin said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be the first Kallang Pass winner! It’s such an exciting opportunity and I’m looking forward to catching Eric Chou the most. I’m really excited to enjoy the different events with my friends who convinced me to head down today. A big thank you to The Kallang Group for making this possible, and I look forward to creating new memories at The Kallang in 2026.”
