When my wife and myself broke the news to Kayden that he was going to have a baby brother, his curiosity raised to a whole new level. With both of his eyes wide opened and touching my wife’s tummy, the first question which popped out from his mouth was, “Is this my baby?“
Month after month, Kayden would often ask my wife, “What is the size of my baby now?” and “What is my baby doing inside?“
In order to prepare Kayden for his brotherhood journey, we had a father and son moment together to watch the hilarious and light-hearted movie, Boss Baby. This movie is about the love and hate relationship between two brothers. Somehow, I felt this movie would prepare Kayden in his coming brotherhood journey.
Being A Dad Of Two
Words may sound simple, but going through another 365 days of roller coaster nights is something all parents with newborns need to embrace. Even my most relaxing moment can get exhaustive. Happy to say, I am more experienced now with handling Baby N, especially when comes to clearing his soiled diapers, burping him after his milk sessions and showering him in the morning.
Does having a second child mean that I have to divide my love between them? Nope. As a Dad of two, I have to give out more love from my heart to accommodate the both of them. There is no limit to love.
Every Parent’s Greatest Fear Is …
As a full time working Dad, bringing money back home is one of my responsibility. The rest of my responsibilities include spending quality time and educating them about family morals. The money which I have earned can be put to use for my children’s education, family leisures and even tough times. Unfortunately, life is fragile and unpredictable. So, how would the life of my family be if I were unfit to work or not around?
I would say, getting the right insurance plan with sufficient coverage will help to reduce my family burden, especially in monetary terms. Here are two insurances which may interest you because of their affordability and flexibility.
Tokio Marine’s TM Term Assure
Today, one of the love which I can provide for my family is to get a term insurance to protect myself. This is the most basic protection policy which covers Death, Terminal Illness and Total And Permanent Disability for an affordable premium. This is the simplest form of protection against life uncertainties and hence the premiums are most affordable.
An example of flexible term plan that will cater to individual needs is Tokio Marine’s TM Term Assure. Based on Singapore’s Life Expectancy At Birth[1], my life expectancy would be nearly 70 years old. At the age of 35, my annual premium is $865. By the end of my policy, I would have paid $30,275 for coverage of half a million. This is just slightly over $2 per day!
Tokio Marine’s KidAssure GIO Rider
Besides protecting myself, Tokio Marine’s KidAssure GIO Rider is the first-of-its-kind policy which covers child-related illnesses up to the age of 19.
What I like about this policy is it covers conditions which children are prone to such as Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD), Dengue Fever and Zika. I can extend this benefit to cover my 2 children under one single policy. In this way, there will be less monetary stress on myself during unforeseen circumstances. What’s more! I can extend the rider to a 3rd child within the same policy should my wife and I have another child.
With TM Term Assure and the KidAssure GIO Rider, I will be able to minimise my fear that should unforeseen circumstances happened to me, my wife and 2 children will be taken care of in the future. And my kids will be covered for 24 child-related medical or hospitalisation conditions. It is always good to plan ahead so that you can be assured your loved ones are protected against life’s uncertainties.
