Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with the opening of its 10th location in the tranquil heartland of Siglap. Bringing its brand of quality bakes and aromatic coffees to the East, the bakery’s newest outpost is a calming oasis for east-siders to indulge in a line-up of scrumptious authentic French treats and ingenious use of the bakery’s Sourdough through a decadent milkshake.
Having transformed the way locals enjoy their baked goods, the homegrown bakery is committed to handcrafting their pastries using time-honoured techniques and premium French ingredients whilst bringing the community together. The latest location is no exception to this dedication. Nestled along the locale’s main thoroughfare, TBB Siglap is neatly tucked within an apartment building, creating a relaxing and tranquil haven to lounge and dine in. The cafe’s all-glass facade allows abundant natural light to spill in, creating a warm, welcoming feel. The cosy establishment is thoughtfully designed with comfy booth corners and warm wooden finishings for that charming, laid-back touch to reflect the personality of the hood.
Known for their authentic artisanal French bakes and baking trends, residents of this quaint enclave can look forward to savouring the bakery’s perennial favourites – such as their award-winning croissants, Kouign Amann, sourdough bread, and artisanal coffee right at their doorstep. The launch of the brand’s newly minted home also introduces exciting and delicious offerings to the menu that are bound to satiate any sweet or savoury cravings.
TBB is shaking things up with a Siglap exclusive, Your Royal Ryeness Milkshake ($9.50). Enlivening their sourdough movement through their bakes, the bakery has yet again pushed beyond its boundaries and creatively concocted this decadent sourdough beverage that’s a first for many. An adventurous and unconventional twist on the usual milkshake spiked with cold brew syrup from Common Man Coffee Roasters in the creamy beverage; it’s a tantalising treat for everyone.
Diners can line their bellies with the flavourful Egg Mayo and Smoked Salmon Pain Feuilleté ($11). This flaky laminated bread beautifully sandwiches hearty house-made egg mayo, smoked salmon spread, and Tsukemono cucumber. This delivers an exquisite mouthfeel and elevated approach to the good old Egg Mayo sandwich.
Spice up your meal with the Curried Chicken Rillette and Mango-Chilli Sandwich ($11). This delectable sub is filled with Curried chicken rillette, fresh tangy mango-chilli sauce, arugula, red onion pickles, and piquillo peppers, encased in a soft bun dusted with sesame seeds.
The Chicken Rillette and Tarragon Mustard Sandwich ($11) is a classic french rendition of creamy chicken rillette nestled in a soft bun topped with crunchy mixed seeds, seasoned with tarragon mustard, smoked maldon salt, and topped with red onion pickles.
Joining the new “kids” on the block is the Black Sesame Oat Latte ($6.20). Created using black sesame and frothy smooth oat milk, this comforting drink blends nutty tones from the black sesame amazingly with the sweetness of the oat milk – simply delicious!
Tiong Bahru Bakery Siglap is now open daily from 7:30 AM to 8 PM at 77 Upper East Coast Road, Singapore 455218.
