Finally, YouTube Kids is now officially launched in Singapore on November 12, 2016. We are very excited as Google has invited my family to their new office located at Mapletree Business City II. First launched in February 2015, YouTube Kids is Google’s first app to built from ground up with the primary focus on children.

Rank the Top five kids apps on App Store and Google Play, YouTube Kids has been successfully launched in more than 20 countries and has received tens of millions of downloads. Thanks to Google, here are the five reasons why every family will love YouTube Kids.

YouTube Goes Child-Friendly

YouTube is the most popular online video community where everyone can explore, learn, share and discover new things every day. With over 4 billion videos viewed daily and more than 88 countries with their own local versions of YouTube, everyone can get inspired by others around the world.

YouTube Kids is born by curating child-friendly video contents on YouTube using a complex algorithm. There are also human reviews to ensure the quality of the YouTube video content. With YouTube Kids, children can learn and discover, while preventing them from accessing non-appropriate contents.

Bright And Colourful Interface

Designed for children, the fonts, icons and pictures are much bigger on YouTube Kids app. Therefore, children don’t need to strain their eyes when viewing those small fonts like on the YouTube app. Navigation is also much easier for their tiny fingers.

Fun Learning Videos For Children

Children can now enjoy and discover great contents from producers such as National Geographic Kids, Thomas & Friends and Pororo. Besides video contents produced by global companies, children can also have access to local video producers of Oddbots, Kandie Network and Infinite Kids.

Better Parental Control

This is one of the best features in YouTube Kids for parents. With parental control capability, parents can set a passcode, usage timer, broad search settings and sound settings. Personally, I love the sound settings option as I can turn off the background music and sound effects so that my wife and I can enjoy some peace and quiet. No more telling my boy, “Could you turn down the volume please.”

Enjoy It On The Big Screen

Families can now enjoy YouTube Kids on the big screen through Chromecast, Smart TV, Apple TV and game consoles. Now, the whole family can watch child-friendly video contents together.

Google will be continuously improving their algorithms to ensure the curated video contents are safe for children and appropriate for them. This mobile video app provides a more customised experienced for families and allow children to have their endless curiosities. In conclusion, YouTube Kids is an effective, smart and family-friendly app for the whole family to enjoy.

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
😌 TGIF! I’m taking a break from all the rally heat with some grilled goodness at Sinpopo.

🧈 The Damn Good Kaya & Salty Butter Sandwich really good, plus teh tarik, coffee and peanut mochi for that extra mood boost.

🗳️ Don’t forget to vote tomorrow ok?
