If you’ve been putting off upgrading your phone, Samsung might have just given you a very good reason to reconsider. The Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G were officially announced in Singapore on 25 March 2026, and from what’s on paper, both devices punch well above their price tags.
I’ll be honest. Mid-range phones used to feel like a compromise. You’d get decent specs but miss out on the camera features, long-term software support, or the build quality you’d normally find on flagship devices. Samsung clearly knows this, and the new Galaxy A Series is making a real effort to close that gap.
So is it actually worth your money? Here’s what you need to know.

What’s New With the Samsung Galaxy A Series 2026
Both the A57 5G and A37 5G run on Android 16 with One UI 8.5, which means they come packed with Samsung’s latest AI features under the Awesome Intelligence suite. Voice Transcription is now built into the Voice Recorder app, so it can transcribe and translate your call recordings and voicemail audio into readable text almost instantly. That alone is genuinely useful if you’re juggling meetings, school runs, and everything in between.
AI Select is now easier to trigger with a long press on the Edge Panel. The improved Object Eraser removes unwanted distractions from photos with noticeably more natural results, and Circle to Search with Google now supports multi-object recognition, meaning you can search multiple items in a single image all at once.
On the A57 5G specifically, you also get Best Face and Auto Trim, making group photos and quick video edits far less painful. As a dad who constantly tries to capture family moments, I genuinely appreciate tools that cut down editing time without sacrificing quality.
Camera: 50MP and Nightography
Both models feature a triple-camera system led by a 50MP main sensor, complemented by an ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro camera for close-up shots. Low-light photography has been upgraded through Samsung’s Nightography, and the results are noticeably cleaner and truer to life compared to previous A Series models.
The A57 5G goes a step further with enhanced image processing, faster shutter speeds, and better noise reduction. It runs on the Exynos 1680 chip, while the A37 5G uses the Exynos 1480. Both are solid daily drivers, though the A57 5G will handle heavier tasks more comfortably.
Battery Life, Display, and Build
Both phones share the same 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. Super Fast Charging 2.0 gets you to 60 per cent in roughly 30 minutes, which is a real lifesaver on busy mornings. Samsung also claims up to two days of use on a single charge, though that will vary depending on your habits.
The displays are both 6.7 inches with up to 120Hz refresh rates and Vision Booster for outdoor visibility. The A57 5G gets the slightly better Super AMOLED+ panel, while the A37 5G comes with a standard Super AMOLED screen. The A57 5G is also noticeably lighter and slimmer at 179g and 6.9mm compared to the A37 5G at 196g and 7.4mm.
Both phones are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, which means they can handle submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for 30 minutes. Good news if your phone regularly ends up too close to the sink or a sudden downpour.

Long-Term Support You Can Actually Count On
This is where Samsung genuinely earns its stripes with the mid-range buyer. Both devices come with up to six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. For a budget 5G phone in Singapore, that kind of commitment is rare and worth factoring into your decision.
Add Knox Vault hardware security, the new Private Album feature for locking away personal media in your Gallery, and Privacy Alerts that proactively flag suspicious access to your location or sensitive data, and you’ve got a phone that treats security as a priority rather than an afterthought.
Is It Worth Getting?
Both the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G make a compelling case for the mid-range 5G phone buyer in Singapore. Samsung Awesome Intelligence features bring genuinely useful AI tools to a more accessible price point, the camera system is versatile and well-rounded, and the long-term software support means you won’t be forced into an upgrade just because your device ages out.
The A57 5G is clearly the stronger pick if you can stretch the budget. But the A37 5G holds its ground at a more wallet-friendly price. Either way, availability starts 10 April 2026.
