The Insta360 X6 is now available in Singapore, and its biggest update goes beyond just higher video resolution. Priced at S$939, this flagship model combines a 360 camera, subject-tracking camera, and a standard action camera in one. It also features larger sensors, 8K recording at 50fps, and an AI system that creates highlight videos while the camera charges.
The X6 went on sale in Singapore on 12 August 2026 through the Insta360 Store, Shopee, Lazada, and selected retailers. The Essentials Bundle is priced at S$1,039.
What makes the Insta360 X6 different?
The X6 is designed so you do not have to choose where to aim the camera before you start recording.
In 360 mode, the X6 captures everything around it at up to 8K50fps. You can pick your preferred angle later, which is a big advantage for travel, activities, or moments you cannot easily repeat.
Insta360 has added more features that do not require you to reframe your footage afterwards.
InstaFrame 2.0 tracks people, pets, and objects, and produces standard flat 4K video. With the new Foldable Selfie Stick Remote Kit, you can use the joystick to control framing, similar to a handheld gimbal.
A separate POV Head Tracker lets the camera framing follow where you are looking.
The X6 also has a single-lens mode. In this mode, it works like a regular action camera, recording up to 5K60fps, offering a 170-degree field of view at 5K30fps, and supporting 4K120fps for slow-motion shots.
For travellers and creators who want to pack light, having three cameras in one is one of the X6’s most helpful features.
Larger sensors are especially important in low-light situations
While high resolution gets attention, the improved sensors may make a bigger difference in your everyday videos.
The X6 has two custom Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors. Insta360 says these offer 33 percent more sensor area than the X5 and take in about four times more light per frame.
In practice, a bigger sensor helps the camera capture more detail when filming at night, indoors, or in scenes with both bright and dark areas.
The camera’s imaging system uses three chips: an eight-core 3.3GHz processor and two imaging processors.
The X6 has two ambient light sensors to help reduce flicker in dark scenes. AdaptiveTone 2.0 measures each lens separately and records two exposures per frame to handle scenes with both bright and dark areas.
The X6 records in 10-bit colour and now includes native in-camera Dolby Vision, which adjusts brightness and contrast for each frame.
8K50 gives creators more room to reframe
The X6 can record 360-degree video at up to 8K50fps.
Higher frame rates help when filming fast action, and 8K resolution gives you more detail to work with when creating a standard video from part of the 360-degree footage.
This is important because reframing is a key feature of these cameras. Instead of worrying about aiming the lens while recording, you can focus on your activity and choose the best shot later.
FlowState stabilisation and 360 Horizon Lock help keep your footage steady and level, even as the camera moves.
To transfer footage, the camera supports Wi-Fi 6.0 for wireless speeds up to 100MB/s and USB 3.0 for up to 450MB/s.
The X6 can automatically edit footage while charging
A standout new feature is Insta360 PanoMind, an AI system made to interpret 360-degree footage.
The AI Director feature works on the camera itself, so you do not need to upload footage to the cloud. When you plug in the X6 to charge, it can analyse your recordings, pick out highlights, and send finished clips to the Insta360 app.
This feature is optional and can be turned off if you prefer.
If you want more control but do not want to edit everything yourself, Auto Edit 2.0 can put together one or more clips with framing, camera moves, cuts, music, and transitions.
Insta360+ subscribers get extra cloud-based tools. Moments Pro, built with Google Gemini, lets you choose a subject, mood, style, and timeframe before it creates a video from your uploaded footage.
Battery life, storage and replaceable lenses get practical upgrades
The X6 comes with a 2,600mAh battery that lasts up to 140 minutes when recording 8K30fps 360 video. Insta360 says this is 51 percent longer than the X5.
Fast charging can bring the battery from empty to 80 percent in about 24 minutes, according to Insta360.
The X6 has 64GB of internal storage, with 47GB available for your use. This lets you start recording even if you do not have a microSD card, which is handy when you are traveling.
The replaceable lens system is improved too. Insta360 says the new lenses are five times more scratch-resistant and cost 60 percent less to replace than before.
The camera is IP68 rated and waterproof up to 20 metres without extra housing. With the Invisible Dive Case Pro, you can go as deep as 60 metres.
More than 100 accessories cover bikes, cars and longer shoots
Insta360 says the X6 works with over 100 accessories using its magnetic mounting system, which is still compatible with mounts for the X5, X4 Air, and Ace series.
One of the new accessories is the X6 Power Selfie Stick, which can add up to 180 minutes of extra runtime.
Motorcycle users get features like a speed dashboard overlay, looping dashcam recording, and automatic license plate blurring. Cyclists can overlay data from devices such as Garmin products and Apple Watch.
There is also a separate Hidden Engine Mic that reduces wind noise but keeps the sound of the motorcycle engine.

What to know before buying
The X6 looks most relevant to people who value flexibility after pressing record. Instead of carrying separate equipment for 360 capture, subject tracking and conventional action-camera footage, the idea is to switch between those roles with one camera.
The larger sensors and longer battery life also address two practical areas that matter more than headline resolution alone: low-light performance and how long you can keep filming.
At S$939, the X6 is still a premium camera. But for Singapore travellers, action-sports fans, and creators who often cannot predict the perfect angle, its biggest advantage is letting you find that angle later.
