Penang, nestled in the northwest of Malaysia, offers a captivating setting for travellers of all ages, whether you’re exploring solo or with your family. Here are five must-visit destinations for parents with kids staying in Penang.

Adventure Zone

This is a wonderful indoor playground located in Batu Ferringhi, at the Golden Sands Resort. It is also open to the general public.

The main attraction of this spot that sets it apart from other playgrounds is the three stupendous, fast-drop slides. You won’t find this type of slide anywhere else.

Parents with toddlers can also head towards it, as there is a specialised play area for them.

Entopia is a popular destination for parents, especially those with young kids. It is a beautiful insect display farm located near Batu Ferringhi. Formerly known as a butterfly farm, it now showcases a wide variety of insects, as well as turtles, fish, scorpions, spiders, snakes, and lizards. It’s a wonderful place to introduce your kids to the beauty of nature.

No.830, Jalan Teluk Bahang
11050 Teluk Bahang, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

ESCAPE Theme Park

This place offers a wide range of activities for anyone seeking a thrilling adventure. From navigating a jungle gym to conquering an obstacle course, and enjoying the amusements of an amusement park, there’s something for everyone. Zip lines, rope ladders, and various other facilities are available for visitors to enjoy.

These activities are not only fun but also provide an opportunity for children to test their strengths, improve their balancing skills, and boost their confidence.

If you have a thrill-seeking child, this is a must-visit location. However, please note that due to safety concerns, children under 6 are not permitted. Be prepared for potentially long wait times as the activities may have queues.

Youth Park

Parents will love this park, and it’s always a huge hit with kids. It features a massive playground with numerous pools and areas equipped with exercise equipment. Additionally, there are trails in the surrounding jungle.

The best part about this park is that there’s no entrance fee. Just watch out for monkeys, okay?

Hiking in the Penang National Park would be one of the best things you can do with your kids in the region. You can hike to Turtle Beach, where you can find lots of baby sea turtles. From there, you can take a boat ride to the monkey beach and enjoy snacks and other tourist activities.

Travelling with kids is not easy, but you can still enjoy your journey by making kids enjoy with you. Penang is a great place to visit with kids because it offers many kid-friendly activities.

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
