“It’s crafting time!” The response which I would get from Kayden will definitely be “Yeah, Daddy!” When comes to a crafting idea, I have to make sure that it will easy, fun and creative. On top on that, it will be great if the handcrafted item encourages playtime and can be used as a storage.

With so many products available in IKEA, there are lots of room for creativity and imagination. Initially, my wife and I want to build an indoor tent, which Kayden can have a cosy spot of his own. Despite this idea encourages playtime but it can’t be used as a storage. Eventually, we decided to scrap this idea.

Finally, we got a perfect crafting idea which Kayden would love to build, play and use it as a storage to keep his toys. I am very excited to show you ‘Kayden Carpark’, build by Kayden and designed by Daddy and Kayden.

To build Kayden’s Carpark, we headed down to two areas in IKEA, storage and kids department. Here are the seven items which I have purchased from IKEA:

1. TJENA box with lid white
2. Lättfattlig box
3. Fullfolja roll
4. Kännetecken roll
5. MÅLA whiteboard pen
6. MÅLA paint brush, set of 6
7. MÅLA paint

With eight colours and a palette in the packaging, each MÅLA paint is stored in an easy-to-squeeze bottle. These paints are non-toxic, has no smell and is ready to use. To use the paint, Kayden just needs to squeeze some paint onto the surface and gently brush the colour. Using a little water will make the painting smoother with a lighter tone of colour.

I did the cutting, while Kayden did the painting, drawing and sticking. He enjoyed the process of painting because he can paint his carpark in any colours he liked.

After I have cut open two doors, Kayden painted the Lättfattlig box each side with a different colour. He would also use the MÅLA whiteboard markers to draw and label the parking lots.

To act as a roof, the white lid of Tjena box is used. Kayden wanted the roof to be white so that his ‘Kayden Carpark‘ writing would be obvious. Flipped on the other side, the roof turns into an open carpark to accommodate more cars!

The Fullfolja and Kännetecken tapes are used for decoration purposes such as the road and a zebra crossing. I will set Kayden’s imagination free on what he thinks these tapes would be.

We had fun crafting out Kayden Carpark. We have successfully turned a storage box into a colourful carpark which encourages playtime. Kayden can even keep his favourite toy cars in it! Thank you IKEA, Kayden has created his own world of fun, creativity and imagination.

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
😌 TGIF! I’m taking a break from all the rally heat with some grilled goodness at Sinpopo.

🧈 The Damn Good Kaya & Salty Butter Sandwich really good, plus teh tarik, coffee and peanut mochi for that extra mood boost.

🗳️ Don’t forget to vote tomorrow ok?
