Taking the train to Chinatown station, I decided to head for some random street photography of Singapore’s Chinatown in the hot afternoon with my Sony RX1. The Mid-Autumn festival is around the corner and I believe there will be many lanterns being hang up as decorations in the area.
During my photography walk, I saw these colourful cube shaped lanterns hanging onto the shop houses. With the clear blue skies in the afternoon, the lanterns really ‘pops up’, making them obvious even you are standing far.
Lantern artworks from local secondary school students are displayed at the Chinatown MRT station. These round lanterns painted using water colours shows the children’s creativity towards art.
