Finally, it is Saturday. My life has been busy and fast-paced. Baby N is now one year old, and he still cries for milk at least once a night. There was a couple of times when he slept through the night, and I woke up asking myself, “Did he cry for milk?”
Baby N has started walking and running. Climbing up the sofa has always been the scariest part of my fatherhood moments. He would climb up and tried running on my living room sofa. Every time Baby N does his wobbly running action on the sofa, I will start to yell, “Stop!” I couldn’t imagine if he lost his balance and fell onto the floor.
Since the weather on Saturday was great, heading out for some outdoors may sound like a good idea. So, I decided to bring my family to Haji Lane for some random photoshoot.
During our journey to Haji Lane, Baby N fell asleep in his baby carrier as soon as we got into the taxi. It seems to me that getting him to sleep at home is more difficult compared to travelling. Regardless he is on a bus, train or taxi, his tiny eyes will get drowsy whenever he looks out of the window.
As Baby N was sound asleep in his dreamland, I brought my wife and Kayden for a morning tea break session at Working Title. This is the best time for us to rest!
Kayden ordered his “Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy”, a refreshing cup of soda with lemon and mint. My wife had “Honey I shrunk the kids”, which is actually cold brewed coffee with honey and I had my “Dirty Chai Latte”.
Located in Arab Street, Working Title is an excellent place to chill and relax. The rustic and cosy interior will make anyone feel like they are somewhere in Malaysia or Vietnam.
Inside the cafe, I spotted two nostalgic items which I grew up with, VCR cassette tapes and music cassette tapes. When I showed these items to Kayden, his eyes were wide open. Finally, Kayden saw the real stuff!
Haji Lane is one of the best places for a photo shoot because of it’s colourful wall murals. This small district also sells unique handicrafts, souvenirs, fashion wear and food. It is very much like a one-stop shopping destination.
Putting Baby N down with his shoes on, he got really curious about almost everything around him such as the paintings on the walls, shop decors and balloons.
After staying in Haji Lane for two hours, the skies start to get gloomy. Time to walk to Bugis before the rain starts!
