The LEGO Group is launching an epic space-themed collection that promises to take kids on an unforgettable adventure. The excitement doesn’t stop with building LEGO sets. From May 31 to June 16, join the Lost in Space: A Mission to Return Home event at NEX, L1 Atrium, where young explorers will face challenges to find their way back to Earth. The event kicks off at 12pm on the first day, and runs daily from 11am to 9pm.
Exploring Kids’ Fascination with Space
A recent survey by The LEGO Group of over 900 Generation Alpha children and their parents in Singapore revealed that 81% of kids are intrigued by the mysteries of space, and 85% are excited by the idea of discovering new planets, stars, and galaxies. Inspired by this curiosity, The LEGO Group has designed experiences to fuel children’s imaginations and encourage their interest in space exploration.
A Brick-tastic Space Adventure
In collaboration with NEX, the atrium will transform into a galactic wonderland where children can immerse themselves in space-themed activities. Armed with a special space mission card, kids will tackle various challenges at mission stations. Each completed challenge earns a stamp on their card, and collecting all stamps allows them to blast off back to Earth.
Mission Challenges
- Find Energy Sources: Customize the Space Explorer Rover with the perfect wheels and windshield, and fuel up with energy crystals.
- Chart the Cosmic Course: Use a high-speed stop motion game to align the Earth, Moon, and Sun for a smooth re-entry.
- The Satellite Fix: Assemble a satellite to capture a signal and start the journey back to Earth.
- Spaceship Builder: Create a dream spaceship, scan it, and watch it embark on a virtual space journey.
Upon completing the missions, kids can redeem an exclusive mini LEGO Space Shuttle. From June 1 to 16, families can also meet the life-sized LEGO Astronaut Benny mascot between 2pm – 6pm on weekends.
Win Exciting Prizes
The space adventure extends beyond the atrium! From May 31 to June 23, families can participate in a scavenger hunt to find LEGO characters Benny and his friends who have crash-landed in Singapore. Search for them around the NEX event space, on LEGO Lazada, LEGO Official Facebook, and NEX’s social pages. Share screenshots and photos using the hashtag #LEGOSpaceLostInSG on Facebook or Instagram. The top six participants with the most found minifigures will win exclusive prizes.
Fueling the Space Obsession at Home
The adventure continues at home with LEGO’s new space sets. Discover planets with the 60431 Space Explorer Rover and Alien Life, or uncover Mars’ secrets with the 42605 Mars Space Base and Rocket. Kids can also embark on missions with the 31152 Space Astronaut 3-in-1 set or the 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship LT81.
