The middle of the school holidays is here! June is usually a great opportunity to create fun memories and boundless experiences with your kids through the simple act of the play, but have you run out of ways to entertain them?

This June, IKEA has launched the children’s campaign “Welcome To Their World”, encouraging us to see things through the eyes of children. Reinvigorating and refreshing the way we play creates new opportunities and experiences for your children to learn about the world around them, piquing their curiosity and allowing their imaginations to run wild.

When it comes to learning through play, it’s best to not let the holidays go to waste. Here are some
ways you can keep your kids busy and entertained for the rest of the holidays. Of course, it would always be best to do these activities with your kids for their safety and for added fun.

Create spontaneous opportunities for play

Help your children unleash their inner Master Chef! Teach them about the intricacies of cooking by preparing a scrumptious feast with the DUKTIG play kitchen ($159) or organize creative pizza bake-offs with the DUKTIG 24-piece pizza set ($12.90).

Let your kids’ imaginations blossom even further by taking them on spontaneous adventures and engaging in fantasy role-play where they dictate the characters in the story. If your kids love dinosaurs, the JÄTTELIK soft toy ($9.90) is perfect for them. Add extra fun by building volcanoes with blankets or massive fortresses with pillows. Props make everything better!

Get moving with your children

Physical activity helps give a huge boost in energy and happiness (thanks, endorphins!). That’s the power of play – where getting physical recharges rather than reduces. The outdoors is an easy way to keep kids active; but if you have limited space and want to keep things indoors, why not try the PLUFSIG folding gym mat ($39)? This is the perfect portable replacement for a lush, green field out in the open. Your kids can use it as a platform for somersaults, or even as a stage to bring mystical fairytale characters to life through role-playing. The possibilities are endless!

Create bonding opportunities with challenges

Bond with your kids by seeing who can create the most beautiful piece of art. Take things up a notch with the LUSTIGT 7-piece weaving loom set ($19.90), or craft uniquely colourful designs and jewellery with the
PYSSLA beads ($9.90).

The simple use of pen and paper can also open up a wide variety of challenges that engage both you and
your kids. Use the MÅLA felt-tip pen ($2.90) to out colour your children in timed colouring challenges
on JÄTTELIK colouring paper ($9.90), or draw brain-teasing memory games using cards made out of
MÅLA paper ($9.90).

There are endless possibilities in the realm of play – this enables new situations and opportunities every day for your children to engage with the world around them. Don’t let the rest of the June holidays go to waste without proper play with your children – IKEA is here to help.

💎 Weekend adventure at Jewel Changi! We had lunch at Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Of course, ended it all with some waterfall fun, the classic Jewel style.
🥐 Dropped by Moonchild Café at Jalan Besar for brunch and coffee after a late night catching up on GE2025 🗳️. Definitely needed that caffeine fix!

The café has a cosy, laid-back vibe with good coffee, waffles, and bakes — plus it’s dog-friendly, which is always a win. 🐶

🚌 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Bendemeer MRT, but if you’re coming from Tampines, just take Bus 23 — it stops right outside the café.

📍 If you’re looking for a chill spot in the Jalan Besar area with good vibes and brunch, this one’s worth checking out.
😌 TGIF! I’m taking a break from all the rally heat with some grilled goodness at Sinpopo.

🧈 The Damn Good Kaya & Salty Butter Sandwich really good, plus teh tarik, coffee and peanut mochi for that extra mood boost.

🗳️ Don’t forget to vote tomorrow ok?
